Self Growth

I’m scrolling through Pinterest while breastfeeding my daughter and I came across an old saying that is relevant to my journey. “If you’re not growing, you’re dying”. This is exactly how I feel. I strive to challenge myself and learn new things. I want to explore all possibilities of life and grow. I don’t want to be stuck in the same place watching the years fly by.

Children challenge themselves by their curiosity. I watch my children learn by doing all day. I challenge them to try something new and explore. But I don’t do the same for myself. I strive to have the childish adventurous spirit to be curious without fear and learn new things.

This is my challenge for the new year. What is yours?

    1. My children are the most curious spirits I have ever come to know. They ask questions constantly and are never satisfied with easy answers. They like to know everything in depth. I do a lot of research to be able to fully answer their questions. They may be young, but they are bright and curious and want to know more about the world

      1. how many are you talking about, I’m imaging two … Brutus has posted a comment to you, he can be outrageous but he has a good heart and truck loads of humour 🙂

      2. It’s a challenge but they’ve been pretty good about it. Nap time and bed time has been working well for me to get my blogging in. And the late nights with my littlest one. She doesn’t sleep through the night just yet

  1. You have a wonderful attitude, Ashley. I love the line: “I strive to have the childish adventurous spirit to be curious without fear and learn new things.” That spirit will serve you for your whole life… and your kids will love it. 🙂

  2. That’s a wonderful resolution! I’m working for balance this year. I have writing goals I want to meet, but not at the expense of my getting enough exercise, eating OK, and making meaningful connections with friends I don’t see enough. I guess that’s my resolution!
